Confession Time: Justin Timberlake December 19, 2006

Posted in: Hitorigoto             Author: Carly

Um…time for a little public confessional. I have a total JT obsession going lately. No, not from the boy-band days — but his stuff (*cough*) now is really hot.

So, Hi…I’m Carly…I’m 30+ years old, still read comics books and love Justin Timberlake. Thank you.

Chair massage November 12, 2006

I have horribly stiff shoulders. My yoga studio had a little 10 min. chair massage going on today and my masseuse told me that the stiffness comes from all the way down my spine…

Is it because I’m always infront of the PC? Is it stress? (what stress?!) Or is it bad posture?! Humm…. in either case, I’m yearning for a full-body massage soon!!!

Chocolate Sushi! November 6, 2006

Wow — how to combine two of my favorite things. This stuff looks EXACTLY like sushi, but is apparently crafted from fine chocolate. I may have to order one for “research” for a Wabi Sabi World article!

I’ve a new found love for Roast Chicken! In Japan, we hardly ever roast anything as a whole, but here, it’s pretty common, right? Not only is it tasty but it’s so easy and fun!

This year, we’re making our first real Thanksgiving dinner and I’m already SOO excited! My husband makes these unbelievable roast turkey with Picadillo stuffings (a slight Cuban twist) and I’m going to be in charge of the gravy, cranberry sauce, and apple pie! Can’t wait!

Happy Halloween! October 31, 2006

On Saturday night, I went to an amazing house party in Miami Beach. It was a very grown-up, yet, funky and playful party with fun people from various difference backgrounds, cultures and awesome costumes!

I haven’t been to many Halloween parties since becoming an adult (yes, I am Japanese afterall), but this night was definitely one to remember. Everyone mingled, with some great DJing under a warm beautiful Miami night… what more could you ask for?!

Detox October 2, 2006

I’ve decided to fast for a couple of days. Me? Fasting? Yeah… it’s tough when you LOVE food, but it was much needed since my return from Spain.

I only drink water and herb tea for today and tomorrow. I’m allowed to introduce some soft fruits, but I might just go without anything until Wednesday night. We’ll see how it goes… wish me luck!

One Tree Hill September 28, 2006

okay, confession time. I really love One Tree Hill. It’s such a great, bad show. I’ll never forgive them for killing off Craig Sheffer, though. I’ve had a crush on him since Fire with Fire in the 1980s.

Bad Timing? September 22, 2006

Posted in: Hitorigoto             Author: Asuka

Why do bad things seem to happen all at once? Before you have time to recooperate, you’re just bombarded one after the other :(

But I guess that also goes for good luck, right? Can’t wait for THAT to come around…

Don’t Sign Your Credit Cards September 19, 2006

Here’s an interesting bit on personal security I never thought about. By signing the back of your credit cards you are just providing a sample of your signature for thieves.

Scary Story September 15, 2006

- I just heard the SCARIEST story from my Yoga instructor today -

She told me that in this small Spanish town’s cemetery, they found buried bodies only half decomposed vs. being fully decomposed.

The reason? You guessed it! With all the preservatives that we are are eating these days, the bodies couldn’t decompose fully…

Something to think about, huh?
