Confession Time: Justin Timberlake
December 19, 2006
Um…time for a little public confessional. I have a total JT obsession going lately. No, not from the boy-band days — but his stuff (*cough*) now is really hot.
So, Hi…I’m Carly…I’m 30+ years old, still read comics books and love Justin Timberlake. Thank you.

Kooki Sushi Madness
December 18, 2006
A little while back I posted a one-sentence Hitorigoto post about Kooki Sushi, and joked that I might have to order some for research. And then the coolest thing happened — they sent me some to try! The only thing I promised in return was to write a review. So here is my completely unbiased review of Kooki Sushi. And considering all the hub-bub about bloggers being paid for reviews and not disclosing it, let me restate that I have not been paid for this review, but I was provided with complimentary samples. Enjoy the deliciousness!
Chocolate Sushi!
November 6, 2006
Wow — how to combine two of my favorite things. This stuff looks EXACTLY like sushi, but is apparently crafted from fine chocolate. I may have to order one for “research” for a Wabi Sabi World article!

Take back the Kitchen!
November 1, 2006
Why do we think that cooking is some magical mystery? Why is making our own food suddenly something that’s an impossible dream? If you can navigate the Web you can make pan of muffins from scratch! Why do we settle for this horrible fake stuff they call food? Take back the Kitchen!!!
Their Big Fat Indian Wedding
October 12, 2006
We’re a bit off our publishing schedule because our Laura is getting married this weekend! Of course, this means we’re all rather busy lately — Laura most of all. But one of the best parts about Laura’s wedding, besides her being happy and all that, is that Asuka, Laura, and I will actually all be in the same room at the same time!
One Tree Hill
September 28, 2006
okay, confession time. I really love One Tree Hill. It’s such a great, bad show. I’ll never forgive them for killing off Craig Sheffer, though. I’ve had a crush on him since Fire with Fire in the 1980s.

I Hate Birthdays
September 25, 2006
I really don’t like celebrating my birthday. It’s not because I have some fear of aging or anything, but I just don’t really like it. Based on pictures I’ve seen, I used to love birthdays. Want to find out how to teach someone to hate birthdays? Read on!
Don’t Sign Your Credit Cards
September 19, 2006
Here’s an interesting bit on personal security I never thought about. By signing the back of your credit cards you are just providing a sample of your signature for thieves.

Food Porn
September 14, 2006
What is it about really great food photography that I love so much? Is it really food porn? I’ve just spent too long going through this Flickr group trying to find a specific food blog that I can’t remember the damn name of. No luck — but I’m loving some of the photographs!

Calling a Bigot a Bigot
August 29, 2006
Since when is bigotry acceptable? Why does America suddenly seem to be walking backwards to the “good old days” when treating Jews, African-Americans, and anyone who wasn’t like you as inferior was okay? Are we really returning to the time when racism was all the fashion? Do Jews need to develop their own horrible racial epithet before someone will acknowledge anti-semitism?
