I live in one of the most hippest and attractive cities in the nation - Miami - where all the celebrities flock to and tourists want to be seen. It’s been my hometown for almost 3 years now. A vibrant melting pot of numerous cultures and an absolutely gorgeous city, of course, if you don’t count the hurricane season!
When people ask me “So… where are you from?” I end up explaining my whole life story that could get a bit long. Here’s the short version though - Born in Tokyo, raised in France, high school and college in New England, working in Tokyo, getting married in Nagoya, and now, here in Miami. There was a point when I hated my nomadic lifestyle, but because of it, the world is now my playground. I’m definitely having a blast, so I’m not complaining anymore.
I love so many things in life but most of all I have been blessed with great friends, a dedicated family, and a wonderfully understanding husband. It shows how we are constantly supported by so many different forces, and I try to be humble and appreciative for everything and anyone who crosses my path. Whatever the situation, there is always room to learn from others.
One of my passions since I can remember has been dancing, and I hope to continue evolving through it. For me, it’s not just what I love to do, but it’s an amazing tool where I can transcend my love for life and experiences with others. My latest fad has been belly dance and yoga. Although yoga’s not a dance, I’m deeply intrigued by its spiritual understanding and forces.
Cooking, learning, and entertaining are some of the few things I put my heart into. I love beautiful things and beautiful people (inside and out), going out to clubs and dancing the night away. Staying in and watching old movies, or traveling the world to catch up with old and new friends. I’m also a strong advocate for women’s connection. I think women can be our greatest enemy or our best friend (hopefully friends), depending on how we all connect and support one another. Not to exclude men - I love them dearly, too - but I think it’s time we gave ourselves more credit and helped each other out.
So, through this Wabi Sabi World, we hope to share our thoughts and experiences, and hopefully shed a light and unite us all. We, as women are capable of doing multiple tasks and roles; we never have to chose either or. We can be beautiful, strong, and successful, along with being intelligent, compassionate, and homey. We can be a woman, a wife, and a mother by carefully juggling the different roles. And remember, we may not be perfect, but it’s the journey to it that matters the most.
